The South Carolina Women’s Business Center is dedicated to supporting you through the life of your business.

After you have met with a SCWBC business coach and completed your business plan, the business coach continues to meet with you, assisting with any facet that will help you get started and succeed in business.  At the end of each meeting, the business coach will provide an action plan that may include actions for you to take and/or actions for the business coach to take.  Once the actions have been completed, the business coach meets with you again to determine the next steps.  In this way, the business coach partners with you to help you achieve your goals, but as the business owner, you always have the final say in any decisions that are made.

A new business usually needs some source of funding to survive.  The SCWBC has not found any grants for helping a company or individual start or grow a business.  The occasional grants that a business might be able to obtain are for specific purposes in keeping with the goals of a government agency or are for non-profit companies.  In each case, they are very rare and come with many strings attached.  If you think you might qualify for such grants, let your business coach know.

Your business coach will explain what most lenders will require in order to qualify for business loans.  He or she will help you locate potential lenders and coach you through the process of applying for a loan.

In addition to helping you with business loans, the business coach is trained to assist you in many other areas, including marketing plans, operations, human resources, manufacturing, government procurement, accounting, computers, doing business on the internet, and much more.  Tell your business coach of any area that concerns you – our goal at the SCWBC is to help you succeed.
