Step 2. Write a Business Plan Print E-mail
Use the simple Business Plan template provided by the SCWBC to begin writing your business plan today.

Both of the courses offered by the SCWBC, Core Four and How to Start Your Business, Step by Step, walk you through a Business Plan template and explain in detail how to write each section.  This is a simple template, designed to reduce the complexity often seen in business plans.  A good business plan includes the essential information that will help you run your business and that will provide the key information that lenders want to see.  Lenders have praised the use of this business plan template, as it provides exactly the information they want to see before approving a loan.  Successful business owners use a business plan to manage their business; it is a place to review their goals, make sure they are engaged in the right activities, and track their progress.

You may download the SCWBC Business Plan template below.  Take your time, tackle one section at a time, and write in a style that you are comfortable with.  Some people take months to write a business plan, and some can complete it in a few weeks.  Once you have written the business plan, or have gone as far as you can with it, meet with a SCWBC business coach for a one-on-one consultation at no charge.
