The South Carolina Women’s Business Center (SCWBC) is dedicated to helping women (and men) entrepreneurs become more successful in all aspects of their business, from start-up through growth and final exit strategies. This center is a program of the South Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership (SCMEP) and is funded by a Cooperative Agreement from the Small Business Administration (SBA). The SCWBC program provides business and technical assistance to prospective and existing small businesses throughout the state of South Carolina. In South Carolina in 2006, 120,806 businesses were women-owned or 35.7% of all businesses. Those women-owned businesses generated almost $19 billion in sales and employed 149,818 people. The SCWBC aims to help these businesses generate more wealth and create jobs. Our goal is to work with women who want to become successful - whether they are existing business owners, aspiring entrepreneurs, inventors or ready to invest in a business venture.
